Vibe coding is magic — until it isn't

Every AI-generated project starts fast and ends in a tangle: duplicated code, no tests, broken structure. The agent isn't the problem. The missing guardrails are.
1

Day 1: pure speed

You describe, the agent ships. Everything feels effortless.
2

Week 2: quiet decay

Files everywhere, logic copy-pasted, nothing tested. Each change breaks two others.
3

Month 1: rewrite

The project collapses under its own weight and you start over. Sound familiar?

Guardrails that keep your agent on track

FrontScale ships the structure, rules, and playbooks that make an AI agent behave like a senior engineer — on every single prompt.
FSD architecture
Feature-Sliced Design gives every file one predictable home. The agent always knows where code goes.
28 agent playbooks
Step-by-step skills for everything — features, designs, auth, payments, SEO, deploys — plus a safe build → test → review → merge flow your agent follows.
Tests + coverage gate
Vitest unit tests and Playwright end-to-end from day one, with a coverage gate that blocks untested code from merging.
Best practices enforced
Strict TypeScript, lint rules, import boundaries, and a definition of done the agent must satisfy before calling anything finished.
Polished UI kit
Ant Design 6 + Tailwind 4 with a style guide the agent follows — dark mode, theming, and consistent spacing for free.
Security checklist
No leaked secrets, no tokens in the bundle. A pre-commit checklist the agent runs every time.
Plan-first workflow
Bigger features get a written plan before any code — you approve in plain English, then it builds.
Deploy-ready
One command to Vercel, plus an optional pipeline: push to staging, tag to ship production. Standard server build, zero config surprises.
Designs without a designer
Design playbooks turn top-company UI inspiration into your own theme, and generate hero art, social share images, and favicons on demand.
Full-stack, free to run
Not just frontend — optional auth, a database, and serverless APIs on a minimal backend that runs on Vercel's free Hobby tier. No extra bills for the core flow.
Sell when you're ready
Optional one-step payments via Freemius — a Merchant of Record that handles tax, invoices, and refunds for you. Flip it on only when you want to charge.

A letter from the developer

Hi — I'm the person behind FrontScale.
I've spent the last five years building frontends, most of it in lead roles where "good enough" never was. Over those years I collected a way of working — an architecture, a set of guardrails, a rhythm — that keeps a codebase clean no matter how fast you move.
We're living through the vibecoding era: anyone can ask an AI to build software. The magic is real — but so is the mess it leaves behind when there's no structure underneath. So I packaged everything I actually use at work into this one template, and I'm handing it to you.
Engineering is changing fast — and I think most of the actual building is about to be handed to AI agents. The job is dissolving into something new: less writing every line, more directing the model that does. I'd rather you catch the first car of that train than watch it leave the station. Think of this template as the opposite of those endless, months-long coding courses that never quite land you a job — here, you learn by shipping something real, today.
My hope is simple: that someone who isn't deep in code — who has never sat inside an engineering team or learned how shipping really works — can build a real application just by talking to an AI agent, and end up with something at the level of a top company. The template carries the discipline so you don't have to.
From you, I need only two things: an idea, and the persistence to see it through.
Good luck — build something you're proud of. And if this idea works, the next stop is a template just like this one, but for mobile apps. See you there.
